Is there a performance trade-off vs neodymium?
No. IE5+ efficiency is achieved through advanced electromagnetic design that compensates for ferrite's lower energy density — no performance trade-off at the system level.
Can I buy one?
Not yet — the motor is in development. If you manufacture motors the IE5+ ferrite design is available to license. Contact us to discuss.
What is the supply chain advantage over neodymium?
Ferrite magnets are produced globally with no geopolitical concentration risk. Neodymium supply is ~90% controlled by China subject to export restrictions and price volatility. Ferrite eliminates that exposure entirely.
